Asset Recovery & Management
An asset management and tracking tool, saving large organisations significant amounts of money on previously lost business assets.

Companies lose significant amounts of money every year from unreturned laptops and business hardware, unclosed internet accounts and mobile phone use by ex-employees.

It’s a significant problem, losing businesses millions of pounds annually across the UK.

But now there’s a significant solution, Asset Manager

Track, Trace & Recover

Asset Manager tracks and traces business assets, pulling together different data sets to give a single, cohesive view of a company’s valuable assets.

In its first six months of use within a major UK blue chip, over £500,000 was saved.

How it Works

Asset Manager collects disparate data into a centralised repository. Running as a service under Microsoft Windows Server 2003, it periodically polls preconfigured data sources for new information. If new data is available, Asset Manager loads it into a “staging” database, performing data validation before transforming it into structured tables that can be used for management reporting.

Configuration is supported by use of an ASP.Net application which guides you through the process of identifying where data will come from, where that data will be staged during validation and prior to transformation, and where that data will finally end up. Data can be transformed to multiple tables where required.

In an example installation, Asset Manager collects data from many sources, all representing assets owned and operated by the company. The data includes location, department and employee information (from systems such as SAP), Computer hardware information from a proprietary monitoring package and mobile telephone information from the service provider.

Reporting

All of this information is then collated into the database to provide a latest snapshot of the assets, along with the history.

Having collated all of this data into an organised repository, reporting is then provided by SQL Server Reporting services, providing complete flexibility in the generation of user analysis.
