Interoute Transport Services (ITS) are a UK based Distribution Company providing a full range of Logistics services, including Transportation and Warehousing. They run a number of large contracts for Companies in the Industrial, Food, Chemical and Gas sectors.

Seeking a development partner to redevelop their Order Processing & Vehicle Management System, ITS asked Technical Direct to tender. Technical Direct was selected for their demonstrable technical ability, alongside a proven track record of successful project delivery.

The Application, “Hermes”, is an Order Processing and Vehicle Management system, managing the daily order processing cycle, from the creation and planning stages through to delivery and tipping. The system enables a set of resources to be allocated to each order and then tracks these through to order completion.

The application is based on a real-time system, where activities occur in both a logical and chronological sequence.

A comprehensive set of reports provides key information including Invoicing, Vehicle Tracking and Key Performance Indicators.

The system comprises of the following modules:

Integration to a 3rd party GPS tracking system.
Vehicle Management including graphical planning tools.
Driver Timesheets & Wages.
Purchase Order System.
Numerous 3rd party feeds including AS400.
